Zagreb
Welcome to Zagreb! The start of your journey! Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel and have time to relax or explore at your own pace. Later in the day, our tour representative will meet you to share important information about your journey.
We’ll head out for a panoramic city tour with a local guide. We’ll take in Zagreb’s distinctive two-hill layout, the Upper Town, and the newer districts of Croatia’s capital.

Day 2 - Thursday
Zagreb • Banja Luka • Jajce • Sarajevo
We set off early in the morning toward Bosnia. Border procedures may take some time. Along the way, we’ll pass through areas that still bear reminders of the conflicts of the 1990s. Traveling across Bosnia’s predominantly Serb region, we’ll make our first stop in Banja Luka. You’ll have free time to discover the capital of Republika Srpska and Bosnia’s second-largest city after Sarajevo, noted for its fortress and Orthodox cathedral.
Next, we continue to Jajce, often considered one of Bosnia’s prettiest towns, known for its mix of cultures, historic mosque, fortress, and striking waterfall. After some time to explore, we carry on to Sarajevo, arriving in the evening. You can enjoy a walk through the old town and visit the atmospheric Bazaar—an Ottoman-era market famous for its architecture, Eastern flair, and traditional shops.

Day 3 - Friday
Sarajevo • Mostar • Dubrovnik
This morning, we’ll set out on a guided tour of Sarajevo—often called the “Jerusalem of Europe” for its long tradition of different faiths living side by side. The city’s mosques, churches, and synagogues reflect this remarkable mix. We’ll wander through the historic center, shaped by centuries of Ottoman influence, and see highlights such as an impressive centuries-old mosque and an elegant fountain.
After the visit, we travel on through spectacular scenery to Mostar. Here, you’ll discover its charming old quarter and the famous stone bridge—an emblem of the city—linking neighborhoods shaped by Orthodox, Muslim, and Catholic heritage. Enjoy free time for lunch and a walk at your own pace.
Later, we continue into Croatia and reach Dubrovnik by day’s end.

Day 4 - Saturday
Dubrovnik
This morning, we’ll set out on a panoramic tour of Dubrovnik with a local guide. Few places rival its beauty: dramatically set on a cliff, encircled by ancient walls, and overlooking the shimmering Adriatic Sea. The perfectly preserved old town is a true masterpiece of world architecture. Along the way, we’ll stop at a scenic viewpoint to take in breathtaking views of the city.
The Franciscan Monastery, famous for housing Europe’s oldest pharmacy, as well as the Cathedral of the Assumption.
Later, we’ll enjoy a short boat ride to Lokrum, a small island just 15 minutes from the harbor. Here you’ll see the remains of an 11th-century Benedictine monastery and recognize locations featured in the Game of Thrones series. After returning, you’ll have free time to explore Dubrovnik at your own pace before heading back to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 5 - Sunday
Dubrovnik • Kotor • Budva • Tirana
We depart early in the morning for Montenegro. After completing border formalities, enjoy breathtaking views along the Adriatic coast and across the Bay of Kotor. We’ll cross the bay by ferry and arrive in Kotor, where you’ll have free time to discover this atmospheric walled town, noted for its Venetian-era architecture.
Our journey continues to Budva, a picturesque seaside town enclosed by ancient walls, where there will be time for lunch. In the afternoon, we travel onward to Albania. Following border procedures, we reach the capital city, Tirana, with some free time to explore before dinner.

Day 6 - Monday
Tirana • Struga • Ohrid
This morning, enjoy a panoramic tour of Tirana, Albania’s capital, taking in key sights such as its mosques, the Clock Tower, and the government buildings. Around midday, we head inland, passing through dramatic mountain landscapes and traditional villages.
The route leads us to the scenic surroundings of Lake Ohrid, which marks the border with North Macedonia. After crossing the border, we stop for lunch in Struga, a charming lakeside town.
Later, we continue to Ohrid, a city shaped by centuries of Ottoman influence and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll have time to visit the Plaošnik Monastery, home to the ancient university founded in the 9th century.

Day 7 - Tuesday
Ohrid • Bitola • Kalambaka
Today we travel across North Macedonia and on into Greece, first stopping in Bitola—an inviting, historic city known for its blend of Ottoman-era and neoclassical buildings. Enjoy time to wander along Širok Sokak, the city’s lively pedestrian street lined with cafés, restaurants, and shops.
After border formalities, we enter Greece. In the north, you’ll notice strong Slavic and Ottoman influences set against a rugged landscape. We then continue toward the Meteora area. Near Kalambaka, we pause in Kastraki, a postcard-pretty village with sweeping views over the valley, and time for lunch.
In the afternoon, we head into the Meteora Valley (UNESCO World Heritage Site), driving through the spectacular rock formations and visiting one of the renowned cliff-top monasteries. Arrival in Kalambaka.

Day 8 - Wednesday
Kalambaka • Thessaloniki • Melnik • Sandanski
We set off through northern Greece, enjoying mountain scenery as we make our way toward the Aegean. Our first stop is Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city, with free time to explore and have lunch.
Later, we cross into Bulgaria, entering the region often referred to as Bulgarian Macedonia. We visit Melnik, a small museum town set amid dramatic landscapes and famous for its local wines.
By evening, we arrive in Sandanski, a pleasant spa town traditionally linked as the birthplace of Spartacus, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 9 - Thursday
Sandanski • Rila • Sofia
Today we travel to the remarkable Rila Monastery (UNESCO World Heritage Site), famed for its fortress-like design and its serene setting among forested mountains. We then continue on to Sofia, reaching the capital by late morning.
After lunch, enjoy a guided city tour featuring key landmarks such as St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Russian Church, and the city’s mosque. We’ll also pass through Sofia’s main squares and broad boulevards, where imposing Stalinist-era architecture still shapes the cityscape. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore on your own.
