Discover Egypt
This journey through Egypt offers an in-depth exploration of one of the world’s oldest civilizations, combining the monumental heritage of Cairo with a memorable cruise along the Nile River.
The tour begins in Cairo, where guests are welcomed and transferred to their hotel before enjoying a welcome dinner. A full-day exploration of the Egyptian capital follows, featuring the legendary Pyramids of Giza—the Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu), Kefren (Khafre), and Micerinos (Menkaure)—together with the iconic Great Sphinx. The visit continues at the renowned Egyptian Museum, home to an extraordinary collection of antiquities, including the treasures of Tutankhamun. Further highlights include the historic Citadel of Saladin, the elegant Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, and the atmospheric Coptic Quarter, where the Hanging Church stands above ancient Roman foundations.
The journey then proceeds south with a flight to Aswan, where embarkation on a Nile cruise vessel marks the beginning of a scenic voyage through Upper Egypt. In Aswan, visits include the ancient granite quarries and the remarkable Unfinished Obelisk, the monumental High Aswan Dam, and the enchanting Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis and reached by boat. A traditional felucca sail on the Nile provides a serene introduction to river life.
Sailing northward, the cruise stops at Kom Ombo to explore its unique double temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus, and at Edfu, where the exceptionally well-preserved Temple of Horus is reached by horse-drawn carriage. The voyage continues through the Esna Lock en route to Luxor, the ancient city of Thebes.
Luxor reveals some of the most significant archaeological treasures in the world. On the west bank of the Nile, visits include Deir el-Medina (Valley of the Artisans), the imposing Temple of Medinet Habu, the Colossi of Memnon, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and the legendary Valley of the Kings, where generations of pharaohs were laid to rest. On the east bank, the vast Karnak Temple Complex, including the Temple of Amun-Ra and the Temple of Khonsu, demonstrates the grandeur of ancient Egyptian religious architecture. The day concludes with a visit to the Luxor Museum and the beautifully illuminated Luxor Temple, followed by time to experience the local souk.
After breakfast on the final day, the tour concludes in Luxor, leaving guests with lasting impressions of Egypt’s monumental architecture, profound history, and the timeless beauty of the Nile Valley.
