Discover Iberian

This Iberian journey offers an in-depth exploration of Portugal and Spain, combining historic capitals, coastal landscapes, architectural masterpieces, and centuries of shared cultural heritage.

The tour begins in Lisbon, Portugal’s captivating capital set across seven hills overlooking the Atlantic. Upon arrival, guests are transferred to their hotel and welcomed with a dinner and an introductory briefing. A guided sightseeing tour reveals Lisbon’s distinctive character, from its tiled façades and historic quarters to the monumental district of Belém, departure point of the great Portuguese navigators of the 15th century. Free time allows for independent exploration of lively districts such as Bairro Alto and central squares including Restauradores.

Departing Lisbon, the route crosses the Alentejo region to Cáceres, whose remarkably preserved medieval old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before continuing to Madrid. Spain’s capital is explored through a panoramic city tour featuring the grand Paseo del Prado, Plaza Mayor, the fountains of Cibeles and Neptune, and the elegant boulevards that define the city. Highlights include Retiro Park and an exterior view of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid.

Traveling eastward, the journey stops in Zaragoza to admire the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, then continues to the serene Poblet Abbey, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval monasteries, before arriving in Barcelona. A panoramic tour of this Mediterranean city showcases its maritime setting, the legacy of Antoni Gaudí’s modernist architecture, and vibrant areas such as the Ramblas and the waterfront near Columbus Square.

Following the Mediterranean coastline, the tour visits Peñíscola, a picturesque walled town by the sea, before reaching Valencia, where ancient heritage blends with the futuristic architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences. Continuing south, stops include Alicante, overlooked by Santa Bárbara Castle, and Guadix, known for its distinctive cave dwellings set against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada, before arriving in Granada.

In Granada, guests visit the magnificent Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens, masterpieces of Islamic architecture and refined landscape design. The journey proceeds along the scenic Costa del Sol through Nerja and Málaga, then into the Andalusian mountains to Ronda, dramatically divided by a deep gorge, before reaching Seville.

Seville is explored with a guided tour featuring its vast cathedral and Giralda tower, the historic neighborhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana, and the banks of the Guadalquivir River, complemented by a relaxing river cruise. An optional flamenco performance offers insight into Andalusia’s rich artistic traditions.

The final stage of the journey leads through Mérida, home to an exceptional Roman archaeological ensemble, and Évora, a UNESCO-listed Portuguese city known for its whitewashed streets and Renaissance monuments, before returning to Lisbon.

After breakfast on the concluding day, the tour ends in Lisbon, leaving guests with enduring memories of the Iberian Peninsula’s diverse landscapes, monumental heritage, and vibrant cultural life.
