Discover Turkey

This comprehensive journey through Turkey offers an in-depth exploration of the country’s rich history, diverse landscapes, and cultural heritage, beginning on the Mediterranean coast in Antalya. Upon arrival, guests are transferred to their hotel and welcomed by a tour representative who provides an overview of the itinerary. An introductory city tour highlights Antalya’s most significant landmarks, including Hadrian’s Gate, the historic Ottoman quarter, and a striking waterfall that flows directly into the sea, followed by a welcome dinner.

Leaving the coast, the tour travels to Aspendos, home to one of the best-preserved Roman theaters in the world, renowned for its remarkable acoustics. The journey continues to Side, where ancient ruins blend with a lively seaside setting, highlighted by the Temple of Apollo overlooking the Mediterranean. Crossing the dramatic Taurus Mountains, whose snow-capped peaks dominate the landscape, the route passes through Karaman before reaching the central Anatolian plateau and the Cappadocia region.

A full day is dedicated to Cappadocia, one of Turkey’s most extraordinary regions, celebrated for its surreal rock formations and early Christian heritage. Visits include the Gümüşler Monastery, an underground complex adorned with exceptional Byzantine frescoes; the vast Kaymakli Underground City, once capable of sheltering thousands of inhabitants; and Uçhisar, a natural rock citadel offering sweeping panoramic views. The day concludes in the Göreme Valley, where an open-air museum displays a remarkable collection of rock-cut churches.

The journey then continues north through Anatolia’s changing landscapes to Safranbolu, a beautifully preserved Ottoman town and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once a vital stop on ancient trade routes, Safranbolu is known for its historic houses and caravanserais, where guests enjoy a traditional Turkish tea in an atmospheric setting.

Traveling onward along the lush Black Sea coast, the tour includes a visit to Gökgöl Mağarası, a spectacular cave featuring underground rivers and striking geological formations. In Ereğli, guests enjoy free time for lunch before exploring the myth-laden Cehennemagzi caves and tombs. The day concludes with arrival in Istanbul, Turkey’s largest and most dynamic city.

Istanbul is explored in depth over two days. A full sightseeing tour includes the Süleymaniye Mosque, the city walls, the Golden Horn, the bustling fishing districts, the exterior of Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace, once the political and administrative center of the Ottoman Empire. Free time allows for independent discovery, followed by an evening transfer to Taksim Square, a lively commercial and cultural hub. The experience is completed with a scenic Bosphorus cruise, offering unparalleled views of palaces, bridges, and waterfront mansions along the strait that divides Europe and Asia.

After breakfast on the final day, the tour concludes, leaving guests with lasting memories of Turkey’s ancient civilizations, dramatic landscapes, and vibrant cultural traditions.
